MetaMask is one of the most popular cryptocurrency wallets for accessing Web3 applications, managing Ethereum-based assets, and interacting with decentralized apps (dApps). But if you’re new to MetaMask, logging in and using it can be a little confusing at first.
That’s why we’ve created this easy-to-follow MetaMask Login Help guide. Whether you’re trying to log in for the first time or having trouble accessing your wallet, this page will walk you through every step.
MetaMask is a non-custodial crypto wallet available as a browser extension (for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge) and a mobile app (iOS & Android). It allows you to:
Store and manage cryptocurrencies like ETH and ERC-20 tokens
Connect to Web3 apps, NFT platforms, DeFi sites, and games
Send and receive digital assets securely
Unlike centralized platforms, MetaMask gives you full control of your wallet and private keys.
Click the MetaMask icon in your browser toolbar
Enter your password
Click "Unlock"
You’re in! You’ll see your wallet dashboard
Download MetaMask from the official website
Click “Get Started”
Choose “Create a Wallet”
Set a secure password
Write down your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase and store it in a safe place
Confirm the phrase to complete setup
Log in using your password any time
🔒 Important: Your Secret Recovery Phrase is the only way to recover your wallet. Never share it with anyone.
If you're using a new computer or phone:
Install MetaMask
Click “Import Wallet”
Enter your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase
Set a new password
Access your wallet like normal
MetaMask cannot reset passwords. But don’t worry—you can regain access if you still have your Secret Recovery Phrase.
Remove the MetaMask extension from your browser
Reinstall it
Select "Import Wallet"
Use your recovery phrase to restore the wallet
Set a new password
Unfortunately, without the Secret Recovery Phrase, there is no way to access your wallet. MetaMask cannot recover it for you.
If you still have access to your wallet (i.e., you’re already logged in), you can view and save your recovery phrase:
Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase
Make sure the extension is installed correctly
Go to your browser’s extension manager and pin MetaMask to your toolbar
Restart your browser if needed
Make sure you’re logged in to MetaMask
Check that the correct network (Ethereum, BNB, etc.) is selected
Refresh the dApp and try again
Reconnect your wallet by clicking “Connect Wallet” again
Use a strong password and avoid reusing it on other sites
Never enter your Secret Recovery Phrase on unknown websites
Always download MetaMask from the official website
Consider using a hardware wallet (like Ledger) for added security
Download the MetaMask app from App Store or Google Play
Log in using your password or import using your recovery phrase
You can also scan a QR code to connect your mobile wallet to a desktop dApp
Install MetaMask as a browser extension
Log in with your password or recovery phrase
Easily connect to websites with one click
Always back up your recovery phrase
Never share it with anyone
Use a password manager to store login credentials
Bookmark the real MetaMask site to avoid phishing scams
